MAN STILL HELD IN CITY ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Gardaí are this evening continuing to question a man in relation to an alleged ‘serious’ assault of a British woman in Newcastle last weekend.

The man, in his early 20s with a Galway address, was arrested in Killarney at about half past 9 last night.

He was transferred to Galway Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
