MAN STILL HELD FOR GORT STABBING

Two brothers from Clare had to be treated in hospital after a stabbing incident in Gort last night

The men who are both in their 20’s were injured in the face and neck with a bottle

The incident occured shortly after half past eight in a pub near the town square.

A Portuguese national who’s also in his 20’s has been arrested under Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act in relation to the stabbing.

He’s being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in Gort Garda station

The injured men were taken to University Hospital Galway. One has since been discharged while the second man is in a stable condition
