MAN STILL HELD FOLLOWING ALLEGED CITY ASSAULT ON WOMAN

A man is being questioned by Gardai following an alleged assault on a woman in Galway city last night.

It’s understood the woman was seriously assaulted in the Bohermore area shortly after 3am, according to Gardai.

The area of the footpath where the alleged incident took place has been sealed off while a forensic examination is carried out.
