MAN RESCUED FROM CITY CANAL TAKEN TO UCHG

The man who was rescued from the canal in Dominick Street in the city just before 5 o clock this evening has been taken to University College Hospital

The elderly man was seen entering the water at the lock gates behind the Roisín Dubh

The emergency services were alerted by a passer-by, and the fire brigade were quickly on the scene, followed by the Gardaí and an ambulance

His condition is not yet known
