MAN REMANDED ON BAIL OVER CITY INCIDENT WHERE GARDA WAS INJURED

A man has appeared in court over an incident in the city last weekend in which a Garda was injured.

The Garda, who’s a member of the Traffic Corps, stopped to deal with a man who was agitated at Bridge Street in the city last Saturday night[3/7] at half past ten.

The accused, Seán Kennedy of 36 Fionn Uisce, Doughiska, allegedly assaulted the Garda in the face.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded Kennedy on bail to September the 1st for possible additional charges.
