Man remanded in custody over Kilconly drugs haul
Galway Bay fm newsroom – A young man has been remanded in custody regarding the discovery of a substantial quantity of drugs in Kilconly, North Galway.
The 21-year-old appeared before Castlerea District Court today.
Twenty one year old Jaroslaw Dorniak, a Polish national, was arrested after Gardai from Tuam seized drugs with an estimated value of over €27,000 Euro at Beaugh Cottage, Beaugh, Kilconly on Thursday.
He had been detained at Tuam Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act before being taken to Castlerea District Court.
Cannabis plants worth an estimated €17,000 Euro and Cannabis Herb with an estimated value of over €10,000 Euro were seized in the Garda swoop on the house near Kilconly.
The Polish man was charged under Section 3 of the Drugs Trafficking Act regarding the possession of drugs and under Section 15 of the act regarding sale or supply of drugs.
He was further charged under Section 17 of the act regarding the cultivation of drugs.
He was remanded in custody to appear again before Harristown Court next Friday.
