MAN REFUSED BAIL IN OUGHTERARD DEATH INVESTIGATION

A man in his 30s has been charged with withholding information, in connection with the killing of Oughterard publican John Kenny last weekend.

56 year old John Kenny was found dead with his hands tied behind his back at his pub on Main Street in the town last Sunday.

Romanian national Florin Fitzpatrick appeared at a special sitting of Galway District Cout at midday this afternoon.

Judge Mary Fahy refused bail due to the possibility of further, more serious charges and remanded him to appear at Harristown District Court on Friday October 7th.
