MAN PLEADS GUILTY AT GALWAY COURT TO SEX ASSAULT ON CHILD

A member of the travelling community has pleaded guilty at Galway Circuit Criminal Court to sexually assaulting a six year old girl down a bog road near a Traveller encampment on May 10 last year.

The 27 year old man, who is a cousin of the girl’s mother, also pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to the child and to falsely imprisoning her on the same occasion.

The matter was adjourned to December 5 next for the preparation of a psychiatrist’s report on the accused.
