MAN KILLED IN TUAM CRASH NAMED LOCALLY

The man who died last evening in a car crash in Tuam has been named locally as Tom Burke from Sylane.

The 64 year old farmer, was the sole occupant and driver of the car, which crashed into a wall at Woodquay on the Weir Road at around 6:30pm.

He was taken to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem examination will be carried out today.

A Garda forensic collision examination of the scene was completed shortly before 11 o’ clock.

Tuam Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
