Man hospitalised after Portumna crash

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after a single vehicle crash in Portumna this morning.

A van carrying four men crashed into the Portumna bridge at around 6:30am.

One of the men recieved head injuries and has been taken to Portinucula hospital where his injuries are described as serious.

The other three men were uninjured.

Gardaí and two units of Portumna fire service are currently at the scene, and the road has been closed for a forensic collision examination.

Diversions are in place, and anyone with information is asked to contact Portumna Garda station on 09-097-42060
