MAN FOUND IN FREEZER UNIT IN CITY NOT YET IDENTIFIED

The man whose body was found yesterday in a freezer unit in a shed on St Johns Avenue near Henry St in the city has not yet been identified

Galway Gardaí say they have not yet established the man’s identity or how he died, but are treating the death as suspicious

The body, which was found at 2.30pm behind the two premises the Mermaid Fishmongers and the Gourmet Tart company, remains at the scene this morning

Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is due to arrive at 56 St John’s Avenue later to carry out a preliminary post mortem examination
