Man dies following house fire in the city

A 27-year-old man has lost his fight for life following a house fire in Galway City on Sunday night.

Roy Nolan was seriously injured in the blaze at Castlelawn Heights off the Headford Road, and was being treated for serious injuries at University Hospital Galway.

He passed away at UHG last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.30pm on Sunday night, and the scene was preserved for a technical examination. Gardaí said they are not treating the blaze as suspicious.
