MAN CRITICAL AFTER CITY INDUSTRIAL ACTION

The man who was injured in an industrial accident on the outskirts of the city at the weekend is in a critical condition in hospital.

It’s understood the man was crushed by heavy machinery at the Barna Waste facility at Carrowbrowne on the Headford Road last Saturday.

The man, who was an employee of the company, was taken to University Hospital Galway where he’s critical today.

Both the company and the Health and Safety Authority are carrying out an investigation into what happened.
