MAN CRITICAL AFTER BEING RESCUED FROM THE CLADDAGH

A 23 year old Galway man is in a critical but stable condition after being rescued from the canal at the Claddagh in the city in the early hours of yesterday morning
Gardai spotted 2 men in the canal shortly before 5.30 am.
One of the men got into difficulty and had to be rescued from the water.
2 units of Galway Fire Brigade attended the scene and administered first aid to the man while waiting for the Ambulence.
He was brought to University Hospital Galway where a spokesperson for the HSE has confirmed he is in a critical but stable condition.
The mans companion was not admitted to hospital.
