MAN ARRESTED OVER PROTEST DURING VISIT BY BERTIE AHERN

One man was arrested and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to an incident at NUI Galway last evening.

Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern was forced to abandon his address to NUIG’s Literary and Debating Society after scuffles broke out between students and Gardaí.
