MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH GLENAMADDY DEATH

A 45 year-old man has been arrested in Glenamaddy in connection with an incident in which a young man lost his life in the early hours of this morning.

The 20 year-old man died after an assault at The Square in Glenamaddy, at around 1.30 am.

Three men were involved in the assault in Glenamaddy.

Two of the men, a 20 year-old & a 30 year-old, were admitted to Roscommon County Hospital as a result of their injuries.

At 2.30am the 20 year-old man was pronounced dead, thought to be as a result of stab wounds.

A 45 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at Tuam Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He can be held for questioning for up to 24 hours.
