Man arrested and drugs seized by Ballinasloe gardai

One man has been arrested following a drugs seizure by Ballinasloe Gardai.

The Gardai arrested the man, and confiscated a quantity of cannabis worth an estimated 20,000 Euro, when they stopped a jeep at the toll plaza near Cappataggle.

The driver has been charged under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act – Drugs Trafficking Act and he can be detained for up to seven days.

It is understood that more drugs have been found by Ballinasloe Gardai in follow-up searches in the area.
