MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED CITY ASSAULT

A 21 year old man is in custody at Millstreet Garda Station this morning following an alleged assault on a woman in the city overnight.

The woman in her early 20s claims she was assaulted by the man at Forster Street around 3a.m.

Gardaí arrested the man, who has a Loughrea address, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

It’s expected a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
