MAN ACCUSED OF CITY STABBING REFUSED BAIL

A 21 year-old City man charged with assaulting an elderly neighbour with a knife has been refused bail at Galway District court.

Daniel Herron of Cluain Fada, Headford Road, is charged with assaulting 68 year-old Stephen Noone at 24 Lus Leana, Headford Road last Monday August 25th.

Judge Mary Fahy said she had grave concerns regarding the very close proximity of a young defendant living next to an elderly witness living on his own.

She refused Herron bail and remanded him in custody to appear before Harristown District Court on Friday September the 12th.
