Majority of Údarás jobs created in Galway and Donegal

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Údarás na Gaeltachta created the majority of its jobs last year in Galway and Donegal.

437 of the 611 new jobs announced in 2013 were in the two counties.

Údarás na Gaeltachta is tasked with helping to attract foreign companies to Gaeltacht areas, and some, such as Mylan Teoranta in Inverin, employ more 200 people.

According to the Irish Independent, figures from Údarás show that almost 7,000 are employed across our seven Gaeltacht areas.

611 jobs were created last year, the bulk of which – 437- were in Donegal and Galway.

Meanwhile, goods and services valued at 826 million euro were created in counties Galway, Donegal, Meath, Kerry, Cork and Waterford – up 39 million on 2012.
