Major outage leaves 10,000 without electricity
Nearly 10,000 customers are without electricity on the eastern side of Galway City this morning due to a major fault.
The fault at the sub-station in Ballybane occurred at around 8.50am, and has left 9,840 homes and businesses without power.
Traffic lights at Briarhill, Ballybrit and Monivea Road junctions are out of order as a result, so caution is advised for road users and pedestrians.
Service is expected to be restored by around 10.30am.
