MAJOR NEW PIER OPENS AT INISHBOFIN HARBOUR

Inishbofin islanders, politicians and invited guests gathered at Inishbofin Pier at lunchtime today for the official opening ceremony of the newly refurbished 8.5 million euro pier.

It marks the completion of major coastal protection works, dredging work, the construction of a new slipway and major pier improvements to Inishbofin Harbour.

The works have improved access to Inishbofin, and have resulted in a safer harbour for the people of Inishbofin and visitors to the island.

It was co-funded by Galway County Council and the Government.
