MAJOR JUMP IN GALWAY VEHICLE LICENCING

There has been an increase of 700 percent in new cars and goods vehicles licenced in Galway last month, compared to the previous month.

The latest data from the Central Statistics Office shows 530 new cars were licenced in Galway in February compared to 41 in January.

57 goods vehicles were licenced last month compared to 32 in January.

The licencing figure for Galway for February is broadly in line with the same period last year.
