A start-up company based at NUIGalway hopes to hire 6 people as part of a multi-million euro medical device venture.

Apica Cardiovascular is headed up by James L. Greene from New Jersey, who previously worked with Medtronic.

3.7 million euro is being invested in the project to develop a new valve device for heart surgery.
