Major incident training exercise concludes

The major incident training exercise held at the Docks at the Galway Harbour Enterprise Park this morning has concluded.

The practice incident started at 8.55 am and the Principal Response Agencies including Galway Fire & Rescue Service.

Galway City Council, An Garda Siochana, HSE/Ambulance Service, Galway Harbour Company and Civil Defence responded.

An Garda Siochana temporarily closed Lough Atalia Road to traffic but the road was re-opened after approximately 15 minutes.

The agencies involved will now review the exercise to inform future planning for incidents and emergencies.
