MAJOR ECONOMIC BOOST FOR EAST GALWAY FROM WORLD CLASS SPORTS EVENT

A world class sporting event taking place in Eyrecourt is giving a major economic boost to the East Galway region.

Over 700 competitors from all over the world are taking part in the World Down the Line International Shooting Championships.

The newly opened one million euro state-of-the-art clay pigeon shooting centre at Esker, Eyrecourt is the venue for the prestigious event.

There are high hopes the new centre will play a part in the 2012 London Olympics.
