MAJOR BOOST FOR LIAM MELLOWS GAA CLUB

City GAA club Liam Mellows has received a major boost.

The Department of Defence has confirmed it’s to sell nearly 5 acres of land in Renmore to Galway city council which will then be passed on to Liam Mellows.

The transfer which follows a lengthy negotiation process will be completed next week and will enable the club to develop much needed training and playing facilities.

Galway West TD Frank Fahey was one of the political representatives involved in the negotiations- he says the new facilities will help youngsters develop their skills.
