Singaporean storyteller Verena Tay will be at Ballygar Town Hall this Saturday night, August 12, for her one-woman show, Natural Phenomena, Folktales from Asia.

This Asian insight on the origins of life and man’s relationship with the natural world promises to transport Ballygar audiences to far-flung corners of China, Japan and Indonesia.

Verena Tay is a writer and performer who brings stories alive in a unique fashion that has delighted adults and children across Singapore as well as in Australia, the US, Malaysia and Wales. She has been telling stories for over a decade and was a theatre practitioner for more than 25 years.

Verena has also published two short-story collections, Spectre (2012) and Spaces (2016), and four volumes of plays, as well as editing 12 anthologies of stories. Between 2005 and 2016, she taught voice, speech, presentation skills, storytelling and creative writing for various institutions and organisations in Singapore.
