A lunchtime concert, JazzTempo, will take place this Friday afternoon at 1pm in Oughterard Courthouse and will be streamed live on Facebook

This event is the culmination of an intensive socially distanced residency shared by the Galway Quartet in residence, ConTempo, and four Galway city and county jazz musicians. They are Matthew Berrill (clarinet/sax), Aengus Hackett (guitar), Róisín Mulliez (voice) and Barry Donohue (double bass).

During their time of experimentation, the musicians have been challenging each other and learning from each other’s experiences in their respective genres.

Based on new compositions by Headford’s Matthew Berrill as well as a number of jazz standards, the musicians have developed new work of music for performance.

The 40-minute performance, presented by the Galway Music Residency, can be watched live on Facebook (@thegalwaymusicresidency) free of charge, with donations most welcome.
