LOUGHREA NURSING UNIT CONSIDERS STRIKE ACTION

There’s industrial unease at St Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit in Loughrea.

Attendants are considering strike action on Monday which could affect up to 130 elderly patients.

Galway Bay FM News has learned that between 60-70 attendents at St Brendan’s nursing unit are not happy at being asked to do extra work by the HSE West, and are considering taking strike action next Monday.

This could affect approximately 130 patients currently receiving care at St Brendan’s Nursing unit.
