LOUGHREA LEISURE COMPLEX UNDER THREAT

The 8 million euro Leisure complex and swimming pool planned for Loughrea is in doubt because of a failure to secure a partner for the work.

At a meeting of the Town Council, Mayor ‘Mogie’ Maher said the County Council is awaiting a statement from a prospective partner for the scheme, but that time is running out.

Some members described the site as ‘highly dangerous’ in the state its currently in.
