Looking at Galway in a new way

PEOPLE IN Galway can now look at their city in a whole new way — from the air.
The City Council is putting a series of aerial photographs of Galway up on their website, making them accessible by the public.
Galway City Manager Joe MacGrath will officially open a free seminar being held by BKS Surveys, a major supplier of geo-spatial data services to Government and private sector businesses throughout Europe, in the Radisson Hotel to coincide with the launch of the service tomorrow (Wednesday).
The Council commissioned BKS Surveys Ltd to fly an aerial survey of Galway City last May and the photography generated will be showcased at the ‘Galway 2007 Orthomap’ launch seminar.
