LOCALS SUCCESSFUL IN BLOCKING NEW CITY PUB

Residents in the West end of Galway city have been successful in blocking a new pub opening in their area.

Simon Heaslip was given permission by the City Council to convert a house and shop at 9 Henry Street and 10 William Street West into a pub.

But locals appealled the decision to An Bord Pleanála, which has now overturned the decision by the Council.
