LOCALS DISAPPOINTED WITH OUTCOME OF MEETING ON CLARE RIVER STUDY
Date Published: 24-Sep-2010
Locals living in Claregalway and the surrounding areas says they’re disappointed at the information from the consultants behind the Clare River Flood Study, Ryan Hanley.
A public meeting about the study and works which are due to take place in Claregalway to prevent flooding similiar to what happened last November, was held in Claregalway last night.
Councillor and Claregalway resident, Malachy Noone, says the news from the meeting is not very postive.
He says the Office of Public Works refuses to accept that the gates at the Salmon Weir Bridge in the city have an affect on the level of the Clare river.
