LOCALS APPEAL GO AHEAD FOR KILCHREEST WASTE PLANT

Plans to build a controversial waste plant near Loughrea have been halted.

Walsh Waste was granted permission by the County Council to change its animal skin and hide curing plant outside Kilchreest into a waste recycling plant.

However the decision is being appealed to An Bord Pleanála by a number of groups.

An Bord Pleanála is expected to make a decision on the Kilchreest waste recycling plant in January.
