LOCAL WIND ENERGY FIRM MAKES THIRD ATTEMPT TO BUILD MOYCULLEN WIND FARM

A local wind energy firm is attempting to build a wind farm in Moycullen for the third time.

Cruachan Wind Energy Ltd has lodged plans with the county council to build four wind turbines at boglands in Lealetter, between Barna and Moycullen.

Two previous attempts by the firm to build a wind farm at the same site were refused by An Bord Pleanála on grounds of its impact on a blanket bog.

The earlier applications were for six wind turbines, whereas the current application is for a four turbine wind farm.
