Local teacher killed in Thailand

There was a massive turnout this week as the remains of a popular Galway teacher were laid to rest in her native Labane, after her tragic death in Thailand last Wednesday week. Jennifer Whiriskey (26) from Ardrahan, an NUI Galway graduate and qualified national school teacher, had only begun a year long world trip with her boyfriend Alan two months ago. She sustained fatal injuries while travelling on a quad bike in Thailand.
