LOCAL CHARITY SAFETY EQUIPMENT VANDALISED

A local charity has been hit with more than a thousand euro in expense after equipment for a charity event was vandalised last Wednesday night.

Heart charity, Croí, is hosting its 16th annual ‘Tour de Lough Corrib’ cycle this Sunday. [May 22]

Over 600 cyclists are due to take part in the cycle which takes in Connemara and the city.

Croí erected digital road safety signs along the route to alert motorists to the upcoming event, but these were vandalised costing the charity 15 hundred euro.
