Local bands for IMRO tour

Over 600 submissions were received for the IMRO (the Irish Music Rights Association) Showcase Tour 2008. Now, after having spent weeks listening to all the songs, the the final line up has been announced and a tour organised.

A whopping 46 bands are performing at eight venues across Ireland, with 11 concer ts taking take place, showcasing the best of new Irish music talent from rock to indie, acoustic to rap.

A ‘Best of Tour’ show will be announced for Dublin in May.

Previous IMRO Showcase Tours have given live music platforms to artists such as The Flaws, Declan O’Rourke, Fight Like Apes and Oppenheimer, all of whom have gone from strength to strength on both the domestic and international scene.

The IMRO Showcase Tour is at the Róisín Dubh on Saturday April 19. Local bands on the bill are Disconnect 4, Mugger Dave, Declan De Barra and Pier Nineteen. Tickets €10/5 members. Doors 9pm.
