LIFEBOAT SERVICE RECORDS 74 GALWAY CALLOUTS

RNLI lifeboats launched 74 times in Galway last year assisting 54 people.

Figures compiled by the voluntary organisation show that lifeboat crews came to the rescue of over 900 people around the country in 2011.

The all weather lifeboat was launched 40 time in the Aran Islands rescuing 36 people.

This is followed by Galway where 27callouts of the inshore lifeboat are recorded assisting 10 people.

Finally in Clifden, the inshore lifeboat was launched a total of seven times assisting five people.
