Lifeboat deployed to Ros a Mhil harbour
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Coastguard helicopter, Aran lifeboat and local coastguard service were tasked to the harbour in Ros a Mhil this morning after an alert.
It’s understood local boatowners noticed a car in the water near the old coastguard station shortly after 9.30a.m.
After an extensive search of the area, it’s been established that there was no-one in the car.
The car was allegedly stolen in the Salthill garda division yesterday and may have been dumped off the pier.
The emergency crews are due to stand down shortly and the car will be removed from the water.
