Western Hygiene Supplies Division Four leaders Bohemians B were caught napping as Darren Hollywood headed a late equaliser for the visitors to give them a share of the spoils from this competitive encounter in Millar’s Lane on Saturday afternoon.

It was an occasion that the visitors scored the game’s two goals as the home side’s opener at the start of the second half deflected in off the retreating right full Paul Doolin.

While Bohemians availed of the gift, they failed miserably to build on this advantage as they created a hatfull of chances, but while the front two of Darren Morris and Aidan Naughton had plenty of opportunities, they struggled to find a way past Barry Fahy in the visitor’s goal.

The home side certainly enjoyed the majority of possession and played some nice football and as the game entered the closing minutes, they looked set to increase their lead at the top of the table, but a late double whammy was to prove expensive.

On 85 minutes central midfielder Paddy Langan collected a second yellow card and was subsequently dismissed, and within a minute the sides were level following Hollywood’s late intervention.

While the respective goalkeepers weren’t overworked in the opening half, there was certainly no shortage of action in the box at both ends. Home custodian John Tracey had his only stop of the half to make on 6 minutes when he pushed away an Aongus Quinn effort, while later Keith Hanly had a header blocked, while Eoin Lavery wasn’t far away as he tried to get on the end of a Dave Tully free kick from half way.

On 16 minutes, the visitor’s defensive wall did their duty when blocking a Langan free kick on the edge of the area, while shortly afterwards Naughton gathered a long ball and rounded Fahy, but the angle was too tight and the scoring chance was gone. The same duo were in direct opposition soon after and the outcome saw the goalkeeper come out on top after a close range shot.
