Larkins should progress

A BIG exodus is expected from the Woodford and Ballinakill areas this weekend when county intermediate champions Tommie Larkins travel to London to take on title holders Robert Emmett’s in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

The venue for Saturday’s tie (1.30 p.m.) has been switched from Ruislip, the home of London hurling, to Oxley Park, Watford, due to a waterlogged pitch and about 200 Larkins supporters are making the trip to the British capital.

Larkins, who bounced back from relegation to win the county title for the second time in three years last October, should be strong enough to seal the victory which would set up a semi-final clash with the Clare and Munster champions the following weekend.
