Laois Hire opens Galway depot
A new business just opened in Oranmore has created ten jobs; the Laois Hire Group, one of Ireland’s largest and most successful plant and tool hire companies recently opened its doors with exciting plans for Galway.
Senator Hildegarde Naughton described the job creation as invaluable and welcome. He stated that this move signals the early revival of the construction sector.
Michael Killeen, Managing Director of Laois Hire Group Ireland and Scotland originates from Galway, with a strong family tradition of county hurling success. And Galway hurler Paul Killeen follows in the footsteps of this great hurling family.
“We are very excited to be in Galway, not least because it’s where my father was born, where he grew up and he proudly represented his county on and off the pitch wherever he went. It is a vibrant city and has talented and skilled workers who we hope to give more opportunities to,” said Michael.
“The growth of Laois Hire in recent years means that we are not just here to operate in the West of Ireland we will also be targeting contacts abroad in the UK and in mainland Europe. We have recently won the agency for Selwood, the UK’s largest manufacturer of mobile pump units and we have already won major contract on the back of this,” he added.
Joe Hughes is manager of the Laois Hire Depot in Carnmore; he says the reputation of the company and their extensive product and machinery range coupled with the HSS Hire network of customers in the UK is good news for Galway-based construction companies.
The location of the Oranmore Depot on the city outskirts offers an improved scale and scope of service for customers across the county.
