LAND ACQUIRED FOR SEWERAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN WOODFORD

Galway County Council has bought land for the provision of a new sewerage treatment system at Woodford.

The six acre site has been earmarked for an integrated constructed wetland system for the surrounding area.

The scheme will now see an application made to the Department of Environment and Local Government for funding to begin construction.

Councillor Jimmy McClearn, who has been campaigning for the new sewerage system says the old one is inadequate.
