Ladies’ Day attendance at racecourse down by 2,500

Attendance at the Galway Races was down for the fourth day in a row in Ballybrit, with 32,663 passing through the turnstiles.

That’s down 2,551 (7%) from the 35,214 who went to Ballybrit for Ladies’ Day last year.

Bookmakers at the course had a turnover of €1,626,663 today, down 15% from the €1,920,224 on Day 4 last year.

However, there was a 25% increase in Tote betting – up from €1,137,337 last year to €1,420,737 this year.
