Labour to hold leadership hustings in city
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Labour party is to hold the next in the series of leadership hustings in the city on Monday (June 16).
The event takes place in the Clayton Hotel in the city, and follows the hustings held in Dublin earlier this week (June 10).
Social Protection Minister Joan Burton and Junior Health Minister Alex White are the front-runners competing for the position after Eamon Gilmore resigned last month.
Galway’s only sitting Labour TD Derek Nolan has backed Alex White’s bid.
The new leader will be put in place on July 4th following a postal ballot of all party members.
The hustings event takes place in the Clayton Hotel at 7.30 on Monday evening.
