Cúirt Literary Festival, which runs from April 21-27, continues its outreach programme this year. The popular Kitchen Readings will be presented by poets Elaine Feeney, Sarah Clancy and writer and performer Little John Nee.

Galway Arts Centre will host an exhibition of photography from Cúirt with contributions from Joe Shaughnessy, Kenny’s Bookstore and Boyd Challenger.  And the Festival will mark Yeats 2015 – celebrating 150th anniversary of the poet’s birth – with a special plaque by the Salmon Weir Bridge. This will be unveiled on Tuesday, April 21 at 11am,

The project ‘One Book, One Tuam’ has been expanded by Cúírt this year to encompass ‘One Book, One Galway’. This annual project will see over 500 children from primary and post primary schools in Galway reading Eithne Massey’s The Secret of Kells.

Cúirt will also host The Book Doctor  with Children’s Books Ireland. This is a unique service where book experts become Book Doctors and prescribe ‘reading prescriptions’ to children, based on their likes and interests.

For more information on The Kitchen Readings  contact Ballybane Library 091 380590 and Westside Library 091 520616.
