KILTORMER RESIDENTS LOSE BID TO BLOCK BROADBAND MAST

Kiltormer residents have lost their bid to block the erection of a 30 metre mast at Newtowneyre.

Hutchinson 3G has been granted final permission to build the mast which will form part of the national broadband scheme.

Locals in Kiltormer are concerned about the proximity of the mast to the local national school and GAA pitches.

An Bord Pleanala has decided to grant the application, as long as 11 conditions are adhered to.

These include that transmitter power output, antenna type and the mounting configuration must not be altered without a prior grant of planning permission.
