KILCOLGAN BOIL NOTICE TO REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL

It will be April next year before a boil notice, which has been in place in Kilcolgan since the beginning of the year, will be lifted.

Galway County Council is now finalising the provision of additional storage and treatment at Kilcornan Springs to enable it to lift the boil notice.

The plant at Kilcornan is the source of water for the Kilcolgan area.

Local Councillor Michael Fahy says it’s a long wait for people in Kilcolgan, but at least there is a timeframe for lifting the Boil notice.
